You pretty much pointed out the two situations where the maf is an issue.open air blow offs are unnecesary, and as far as the intake plumbing that really pretty figured out at this point (selin). MAF does a pretty good job compensating for pretty much everything but these two. If you want to get wild with the intake thats fine, but unless you are going custom plenum or something i don't think there is much performance in it beyond the standard selin dual setup. MAP relies on the efficiency of the engine being accurate in a map set by the tune. Do anything to change the efficiency and the MAP is not very good at compensating. Environmental changes, mods like exhaust or cams, I think the MAF is going to do a better job, even if not perfect, of adapting.
